I visited the Chiles High School website to find teacher websites, but surprisingly not many teachers had them available (at least not as many as I expected). I did try and find other schools that included teacher websites in their departments section, but did not see any! However, I really enjoyed looking at the websites that were available. Most included information about themselves, an announcements page, and a calendar with important dates. I think that this is a great resource to provide to parents and students; none of my teachers ever provided websites but I think it is an accessible, user friendly way to get information across (and much more environmentally friendly than sending paper newsletters home!). Here is the link to the website I visited!  https://www.leonschools.net/chiles  I can envision myself using a lot of technology in order to accomplish my responsibilities effectively. As a future teacher, particularly looking to focus on early childhood education, I th...

So far, I have really enjoyed blogging in this class! I think it is a really good way to reflect on what we learned in class throughout the week and to look back on if we want to recall what we have learned so far. While I do think the workload is a little bit much for a simple reflection, I do understand the benefits of blogging in this class. As a future teacher, I think Blogger is a really good resource to use in the classroom (i.e., posting blogs and sharing the url with parents and allowing them to read and respond to your posts).  For the Generative AI assignment, I utilized ChatGPT and prompted it to make me a lesson plan for a Kindergarten Science class. As it gave me responses, I asked follow up questions to make sure I was getting a well rounded lesson that included everything required of it. I did ask for links to websites or songs, but that part did not work; the links were not all real. Next time, I would likely include more descriptive words or instructions in my orig...

My initial thoughts on artifical intelligence in a K-12 setting are very multifaceted. I do believe AI can provide many benefits to teachers as well as students, but I think it can easily be abused if not regulated. As a future educator, if I was to implement AI into my curriculum, I would make sure to assess its usage and ensure my students remained ethical. In my own usage, I would also try and not rely on it and become overly dependent on its function.     For my Personal Learning Network, I have primarily used Pinterest. I have been interacting with different educators that publish their classroom or classwork ideas, which is very beneficial and offers a lot of good insight. I really like to see what other people are using in their classrooms in order to start thinking of how I want mine to function. This helps my future immensely because I will already have some connections and resources available to me once I graduate and become a teacher.   ...

One of the standards on technology was HE.3.PHC.2.3, Understand the positive and negative impacts technology may have on health. This standard emphasizes the importance of education students on the different ways we can use technology and how it can be beneficial or harmful. For example, technology can allow people to play violent video games and thus justify violence in real life, but it can also allow people to make new friends online through games. I do feel prepared to implement this standard, but I think it could be difficult in too young of an age group. Based on my current skill set, I think that I would have to prepare a lot before thge lesson to make sure what I implement aligns with the standard properly since I am not very accustomed to using standards yet.     When looking at the CPALMS website, I chose to find a standard for the Kindergarten age level and science subject. I chose SC.K.N.1.2,   Make observations of the natural world and kno...

As a future teacher, I believe that copyright will definitely be something I have to be cautious of. When it comes to using online services, such as photos or worksheets, for my lessons, I have to make sure I am looking into the copyright agreements and using them fairly. Having students use the web for assignments could also bring up this issue, so I would have to be cautious of that as well. I have learned that copyright has an exemption if it is used in face-to-face teaching, which I did not know prior to this class.       I think that academic dishonesty is the most prevalent technology implementation issue today. Since sources like Google are so easily accessible, there is nothing stopping a student from searching up an answer. AI has not helped this problem either, as it is an even easier way to get a quick answer to a question. I am an Elementary Education major, so my future classroom will consist of young children that can have limits on ...

In middle and high school, my schools primarily used Google. I did some early college credit that required MS applications, but it was in very small doses compared to the amount I used Google services. When coming to college this Fall, I was still very new to all MS applications and had to adapt to them in order to do my assignments. I prefer Google Docs due to the autosave feature and I do think it is more user friendly, but I am more used to MS Word at this point. There was definitely a learning curve at first though!      The ISTE Standard that is most meaningful to me is 2.1 Learner. I believe that there is always more to learn, even when you are the teacher. Working with others and doing research on new things you can utilize in your classroom is very crucial if you want to be a good teacher. I love how it stated how important "staying current" with research is. People can learn something early on and continue to use that practice as if they are experts, but ed...
